Walt Mink

"El Producto" CD (Atlantic)

Typical 90's power pop that's a step up from your typical 91X oversaturation of Bush and Alanis. John Kimbrough's guitar frequently sounds like Iron Maiden, although the songs are decidedly less pretentious, bordering on quirky if anything. The vocals and musicianship are all solid, as is the songwriting. The Beatles and Byrds-inspired pop music of "Settled" and "Overgrown," combined with the catchy rock of "Stood Up" and the Van Halenish "Little Sister," is reason enough for Walt Mink to make it big.
