So Steve Albini gets hold of another band and does what he does best - top-notch production. But musical production can only take a band so far before you realize that after six albums Man ... or Astroman? has exhausted its creative karma. The album doesn't suffer from any lack of talent, but any of these songs can essentially be heard on their former releases and the cheesy Toys 'R' Us electronic game sound effects simply aren't enough to jump-start the stagnating band.
