Boston Hardcore, 89-91

"Boston Hardcore, 89-91" CD (Taang!)

Rampant nostalgia generally produces half-assed examples of an idealized time which was probably just as mediocre as every other point in history, just like this collection of songs which, as its title suggests, purports to represent an era. Most of it sounds like lame heavy metal; what doesn't is hardcore by the numbers. This album is probably the single most cogent argument for the death of punk I've heard to date. It's a crying shame.
