Crayon

"Brick Factory" CD (Harriet)

The catchy melodies in these distorted pop tunes grow on the listener like kudzu, eventually restricting not only their breathing but movement as well. The music isn't very original, but originality can be somewhat overrated. Quality is paramount, and Crayon churns out 14 punk-pop anthems with nary a clunker in the bunch and most, especially "Snow Globe," "Western Flyer" and "Schirm Loop," purr like a well-lubricated engine. I hear the drummer wears a lion suit when they play live.
