The Blow Pops

"American Beauties" CD (Get Hip)

Shades of the British Invasion cast lines across this melodic retro pop that doesn't bother to deal with politics or topics of relevance. Don't worry, that's a good thing. Relevance only means a record happens to fit the Procrustean agenda of some half-assedly polemical journo. The Blow Pops just write pop songs about love and the things that can go wrong with it. Maybe next time they'll write some songs about cars too.
