Bad Religion

"All Ages" CD (Epitaph)

Any self-respecting punk should already have the albums which contain the songs on this 22 song "Best of" collection. Sure, there are a couple of live tracks, but the sound quality is only okay and the performances don't really bring anything new to the songs. If you don't want to spend the money on the full-lengths, this is a decent compilation of the band's work, collecting songs from nearly every phase of Bad Religion's existence. Still, there's something rather annoying about a punk band releasing an album like this. While it might serve as a nice introduction for people who weren't listening to BR in the 1980s, the albums offer the most coherent perspective on the band. In other words, save your money, buy the band's back catalog and regard this as an anomaly, a mildly interesting punk rock curio.
